Le Mont Saint Michel
What can I say about this prison, this abbey, this natural tidal wonder that hasn't already been said or written about. I first heard about Mont Ste-Michel in French class in High School in Detroit. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined seeing it in person, let alone walking through it, enjoying the sights, smells, noises and of course, the tastes of Calvados, Crepes and Galettes St Michel . On my first visit, I drove over and back from Paris in one day. This last visit, I was able to enjoy the abbey, the coastline, the shops, restaurants and spend the night. It afforded me the opportunity to get evening, night and morning shots. This is a morning shot, just as the sun is coming up and trying to burn through the fog. It's a magical time and place.
